Nowadays, the level of shipbuilding has been greatly improved, and the design and construction of marine desulfurization towers has become a trend. However, how to ensure the welding quality of super duplex stainless steel and Hastelloy alloy dissimilar materials has always been a problem.
To this end, we conducted experimental research on argon arc welding of super duplex stainless steel 2507 and Hastelloy C276 materials. First, we conducted basic performance tests on the two materials respectively. The test results showed that Hastelloy C276 has higher corrosion resistance and better thermal stability; while super duplex stainless steel 2507 has higher strength and Better plasticity.
Next, we conducted a welding test. The test results show that the use of appropriate welding process parameters can ensure the quality of the welds of the two materials. Specifically, during the welding process, you need to pay attention to the following points:
First, choose the appropriate welding wire. We selected corresponding welding wires to ensure the strength and corrosion resistance of the weld.
Secondly, control the welding current and voltage. During the experiment, we found that appropriate current and voltage can ensure that defects such as cracks and holes will not appear in the weld.
Finally, perform appropriate post-weld heat treatment. During the test, we adopted appropriate post-weld heat treatment processes to ensure the performance and stability of the weld.
Through the above experimental research, we successfully realized the argon arc welding of dissimilar materials between super duplex stainless steel 2507 and Hastelloy C276. This provides some reference for the production of similar desulfurization towers and also makes a certain contribution to the development of the shipbuilding industry.
